RPS EXPRESS 2nd Edition 2023
Dear Parents, Learners and Friends.
REFLECTING ON TERM 2 – THE WINTER TERM
Rugby, Netball and Chess dominate the Winter Term and it is encouraging to see the number of learners excitedly preparing for each practice or match. Our netball is steadily improving and we already have our sights set on next year’s league. Three of our rugby teams made it to semi-finals and the 1st Team went on to finals. They finished victorious, beating Laerskool Birchleigh 17 – 14.
Hearty congratulations to Logan Oosthuizen who made the A Valke side for U/13 Craven Week and Christian Sibanda who made the B Valke Side for U/13 Craven Week.
The term started with the awarding of a red blazer to Emily Higgins for swimming – a wonderful accolade. A re-awarding of a red blazer was bestowed on Chelsea van Dyk for athletics – such an honor. We are enormously proud of our recipients of red blazers – congratulations girls. The term ended with a very successful Inter-House Cross-Country. Two great records were broken on the day by Alexis Visser and Chelsea van Dyk.
The other event which dominated the Term 2 Calendar, was the building up of the hall floor. It was a monstrous project, filling up the gaping hole which was the hall floor. However, the end result is a magnificent floor with a proper foundation. A dream come true.
With Controlled Tests under the belt and reports handed out, we are looking forward to the winter holidays.
Heartfelt thanks to the RPS Staff, and parents for your wonderful support of our beautiful School. Then to the heartbeat of RPS, our learners. Boys and girls it is your energy, heart and spirit which keeps our School afloat. Each one of you has a unique role to play at Rynfield and we encourage you to keep on trying your best in all that you do, both in and out of the classroom.
Happy winter holidays – reboot, recharge and refresh
