IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS APPLYING FOR GRADE 1 IN 2025
Instructions for Applications
- Please take note that applications for Grade 1 entry into Public Ordinary Primary Schools may only be done online via: www.gdeadmissions.gov.za which will be accessible from Thursday, 11 July.
- As a parent, you will be required to create login credentials and then follow the step-by-step procedure as outlined on the GDE website, to register your child(ren) for admission to a primary school in 2025.
- Please ensure that the cell number you select for this process is correct, as the Online System will communicate instructions and the progress of your application via SMS to this number.
- Keep a note of the Reference number issued.
- Once you have been issued a Reference number, you have 7 days to submit your certified copies of documentation to the primary school applied at, or to upload on the GDE platform. It is recommended to use either .JPG or .PDF scanned formats, not cell phone photos of documentation, due to quality issues experienced in the past. Any admission documents uploaded after 12 August will result in the applicant only being offered placement at a school at the end of the year.
It is recommended that you prepare the following documentation:
ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE CERTIFIED
- An unabridged birth certificate of the child (shows both biological mother and father details) Immunisation card / Clinic Card – vaccination history only, not growth chart. (6 year old vaccinations must be up to date prior to admission into Grade 1).
- Proof of residency – If a home owner, then your most recent municipal (Water & Lights) account; If a tenant, a certified copy of your lease agreement, accounts in your name posted to this address, as well as the Landlord’s Water and Lights account. Note: Affidavits are not accepted as proof of residence, nor is the Confirmation of Address form, as issued by the Ekurhuleni Municipal offices.
- Both parents Identity Documents or Passports.
- The Court Order in the case of a legally appointed guardian / foster parent.
- For immigrants / refugees, the work permit as well as study permit for the learner, valid at least until mid-2025.
The District Director will sign off the Waiting List for the schools towards the end of the year and Parents will be advised of placement at a school via SMS.
Parents will then have 7 days within to accept the offer of placement for their child at a school.
Any problems experienced in registration may be forwarded to the Call Centre on 0800 000 789.
Regrettably, the Rynfield Primary School Administration team is unable to assist with any queries in this regard
