We enjoyed two days of Athletics last week. A real highlight was that a number of records were broken. Overall our athletes really impressed us with the heart, spirit and sportsmanship with which they competed. Congratulations boys and girls we are so proud of you.
A huge vote of thanks to the Sports Department and teaching staff for affording our children the opportunity to go out and do their best.

Our Grade 6’s returned safe and sound from Camp Konka on Friday, having enjoyed a tremendous camp. Thank you to our Grade 6 Educators, Mrs S Verrall, Mr van Eeden and Mr Bloem for attending the camp and affording our children this great opportunity.

Welcome back to term 4. It is wonderful to have all our Rynfielders back looking healthy and relaxed. Term 3 certainly took its toll on our leaners and Staff.
We encourage our leaners to approach everything they do this term with excitement, drive and a sense of purpose. Together we can achieve great heights this term, in all that we do. Looking forward to a successful term 4.

Finally, after months of hard work rehearsing for our Foundation Phase concert Back to the 80’s opening night is on Tuesday, 3 September. There is such a buzz of excitement in the School as our little ones can’t wait to showcase their wonderful talent. We also discuss the results from the Cross Country Gauteng Championships, the AGM and Sport.

Congratulations to all our Cross-Country athletes who ran at D-17 last Wednesday. Special congratulations to Alexia Visser and Chelsea van Dyk will now progress to Gauteng Championships and we wish both girls every success. In this issue we discuss Cricket semi-finals, Concert Time for Foundation Phase, Summer Uniform, Golf Day and special thanks for the Borehole Drilling.

Many of our learners bravely stepped up this term. Whether it was with new challenges in the classroom, on the sportsfield, at chess or practising for the concert. We applaud you. The sense of accomplishment was so heart-warming to see. Keep moving forward boys and girls – you can do it.
Out heartfelt thanks to the RPS family – the staff, the children and their parents for ensuring Term 2 was a great a one. Term 2 is always an extremely busy one, culminating in Controlled Tests. Hence, the winter holidays are perfectly timed!

The cherry on the top has most definitely been our nomination as a School of Excellence in the Premier Awards. A fantastic collective effort by staff, children, parents and community as a whole. How privileged am I to lead a School that is brimful of opportunity. Wishing everyone a relaxing ‘break’. Just enough time to recharge the batteries and get ready for the ten week final term of 2023.
