NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO 36 2024

Dear Parents, Learners and Friends

As the exam / controlled test period approaches, we are very aware that we are still placing sporting demands on our children. The last of our Friendly Athletics meetings are this week and our Inter-Primary Relay Galas take place next week. Then it is all systems go for our exams.

– A good starting point, in preparation for studying, is to ensure that the study space is uncluttered and away from distractions eg TV. Proper lighting and fresh air is essential.
– Have some lined and blank paper available as well as stationery.
– A few past exam papers can be downloaded well in advance, to be used at the end of the study process.
– Have the exam / controlled test timetable available and visible.
– Encourage your child to set targets, by which certain sections of work must be studied – a study schedule.
– Flashcards, key notes / key words, spray diagrams, mind maps, mnemonics, test yourself, test your friend are all techniques which can be used to study.
