Looking back over 43 years, I can honestly say that time flies when you are having fun! My time at Rynfeld Primary has passed in the twinkling of an eyelid. In the words of Charles Dickens, from a Tale of Two Cities ….. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief and incredulity, it was the season of light and the season of darkness, the spring of hope and winter of despair.”

I arrived in 1982 as a Student Teacher in her final year full of great expectations and leave as an enormously proud Principal of RPS in 2024. What an experience, what a privilege, what a joy!
The chance to work with children is a most remarkable opportunity and then to work with colleagues just takes your job to a whole new dimension. How fortunate that I got to fulfill both.

As I said in last year’s magazine, to lead an action-packed school like RPS is both a privilege and a pleasure. Heartfelt thanks to every child, member of staff, parent and member of the community with whom I have worked. I am so much richer because of our connections and I trust I have inspired each of you to believe in yourselves and your worth and live life to the best that you can.

It takes a village to raise a child and none of us can relinquish that vital role. We owe it to our children to each play our part – to be a role model, to encourage, inspire, nurture and to parent. Moms, dads, guardians we are able to accomplish so much at this wonderful school, because you are invested in your child’s education. Your most rewarding investment ever. Your unwavering support has opened numerous doors for us – long may that support continue at RPS. May RPS continue to jointly raise fine young ladies and men.

Happy holidays to all our families. May 2025 be filled with joy, good health and happiness. May our beautiful School continue to excel, going from strength to strength with new leadership at the helm. Rynfield Primary is destined for great things – continue to leave your mark. Farewell and may God Bless our School abundantly. My retirement is with a happy heart. I am so excited for the next chapter to open.
